| The Gilbert Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch was opened in 1999. This facility was designed primarily from a water resource perspective where 1.4 Billion gallons of treated reclaimed water are recharging the aquifer every year. In addition to this mission it has also been designed as a 110 acre park where the public can enjoy a wide variety of passive recreational activities. A highlight of the park is the many bird species that can be found there and it has been officially recognized by the Audubon Society creating a true gem in the Sonoran Desert. |
