<<< Return to News Listing July 14, 2008 MONSOON RAINS PROVIDE FREE WATER FOR YOUR LANDSCAPE How much rain did your neighborhood get? Recent monsoon rains meant varied amounts of water across the Valley of the Sun. You can check out Rain Log from the Arizona Board of Regents to find out how much your neighborhood received. If you received at least one-half inch of rain, you can save yourself some money by switching your irrigation timer to 'off,' 'stop,' or 'rain' to take advantage of the free water! It's time to turn your timer back to 'Auto' when a soil probe or long screwdriver will not move easily into the soil. (A soil probe moves easily through moist soil, but stops when it hits dry soil.) If you would like regular reminders on how and when to water, subscribe to the City of Mesa's Landscape Watering Reminder.
