Landscape Plants for the Arizona Desert

Vines

Use vines to add vertical interest to your landscape, cover bare walls and fences, screen views, dress up posts and columns, or create welcoming areas for a ramada or patio. These plants are especially valuable in small gardens because they require little space. Many vines will cling to a trellis or structure, but others will not. In those cases, extra support or ties may be needed. Some vines become excellent groundcovers when allowed to sprawl on the soil surface.
